How gross income becomes an estimate
Divide gross annual income by 12, locate that monthly amount in the official 2026 HFS conversion table, then use the selected standardized tax column. The table uses income bands and tax assumptions; it does not reproduce your exact paycheck, actual tax return, or every allowed adjustment.
The majority-parenting-time column uses different standardized assumptions from the other column. With no children, this tool uses the non-majority column for both people as an approximation. Agreements, tax attributes and court findings may call for an individualized tax calculation. The tool shows no result for nonzero incomes below or above the conversion table, rather than inventing a tax rate.
The child-support estimate uses the 2026 basic-obligation schedule and each parent’s share of combined estimated net income. If each parent has at least 146 overnights, it applies the shared-care multiplier and offset. The optional maintenance adjustment is for a current, non-tax-deductible payment between these parents; it is not a calculation or recommendation of maintenance.
This is basic support only. Insurance, childcare, additional expenses, other-family adjustments, benefit credits, split care and court deviations are excluded. Low-income and out-of-table cases receive a review message instead of an ordinary guideline number. Six is the maximum child count supported by this tool. Do not add a separate maintenance estimate without considering the interaction of the obligations.
